Let the market find the price through a controlled trading event on FCX – Australia’s licensed alternative

Why it matters:

Pricing a private holding has traditionally been unstructured, priced deal by deal with little visibility. An auction on FCX lets the market find the price – participants see the orders placed around them and trade with discretion. The company simply sets the price range and trading window, then lets FCX run the event from start to settlement.

An auction market on FCX:

  • Enables all parties to buy/sell at one clear valuation through a secondary transaction
  • Provides transparency and regulation in every transaction through our ASIC and RBA ASIC licensing
  • Creates an auditable and compliant record of every process in every transaction
  • Connects companies to our pool of high-quality investors

Who it's for:

Companies

Provide shareholders and employees with regulation in each transaction, while maintaining full control over your cap table

Funds

An alternative to redemption windows, providing scheduled liquidity events, where unitholders can opt to sell their holdings in a fund. All the liquidity, none of the admin burden

Investors

Access high-growth private companies through a secure, transparent process

The FCX process:
1

Set the parameters

The company or fund defines the price range within which orders can be placed, and the timing of the trading window.
2

Participants submit orders

Eligible buyers and sellers submit orders through the FCX platform. They indicate how many shares they wish to buy/sell and at what price.
3

FCX executes orders

When the trading window closes, the FCX algorithm calculates the price at which the greatest volume of buy and sell orders can be matched - known as the ‘Trade Price’.
4

Settlement

Matched orders are executed at the Trade Price. Settlement is handled near-instantly, where the transfer of shares and funds occurs simultaneously, reducing settlement risk and delays associated with T+2 settlement.
5

Recording

Every step of the transaction is time-stamped and recorded, creating a full audit trail.
